Israeli singer and performer Yossi Banai died today at the age of 74. Banai, an Israel Prize laureate, was born in Jerusalem in 1932. He was a member of the famous Banai family, which includes some respected Israeli artists.
Banai was a main character in the Israeli theater scene, performing both dramatic and comic roles over the years, and writing for leading acts such as “Hagashash Hachiver”.
Banai was also known for his passion for French Chansons, which he translated to Hebrew and performed in his albums.
