When former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon evacuated all Israeli soldiers and settlers from the Gaza Strip last August, the idea was that Israel would be able to defend herself from the international border. That clearly is not the case today. Israels new leader Ehud Olmert has launched Operation Oaks of Bashan to try and suppress the Palestinian rockets that now target the town of Ashqelon for the first time.
