Mufti Al-Husseini at his visit to Berlin

Mufti Al-Husseini and Adolf Hitler

(Reuters) Itís now official - documentation released by the Nazi research center in Ludwigsburg, Germany confirms that Palestinian Arabs actively supported the Nazi plan to exterminate the Jews in the Land of Israel during World War ll. ĎPalestinianí leader Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Moslem Mufti of Jerusalem, met Hitler in Berlin in 1942 offering to aid the Third Reich. A short time later, a German unit called ĎEinsatzgruppe Egyptí was formed - its mission was to start exterminating the some half-a-million Jews in the Land of Israel, after its conquest by General Rommelís Afrika Corps. It was only the German defeat at El Alamein by British General Bernard Montgomery that prevented the Arab supported Final Solution from being carried out in the Holy Land.
