Israel to Accelerate Construction of Fence Next Year
(Dec. 23) Israel is about to accelerate construction of its security fence, with the goal of keeping out Palestinian suicide bombers. Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Yuval Steinitz tells IsraCast that up to 15,000 Palestinians may be included inside the fence, but an effort is being made not to disrupt their daily lives. Lt. Gen. Yaalon: 'Iran Responsible for Fate of Ron Arad'
(Jan. 27) Israel is moving at full speed to finalize preparations for the Hizbollah prisoner exchange on January 29.
President Moshe Katsav is reviewing lists of more than 400 Arab terrorists, whom Israel is to set free in return for Israeli civilian Elhanan Tennenbaum and the bodies of three IDF soldiers who were ambushed and abducted by Hizbollah along the Lebanese border.
IDF Chief of Staff Yaalon is cautiously optimistic about obtaining some new information about missing Israel Air Force navigator Ron Arad. Yaalon holds Iran responsible for Arad's fate. David Essing reports.
