King-George Street in Jerusalem

The opening of King-George street marked the seventh anniversary of the conquering of Jerusalem by the British forces

The opening of King-George street marked the seventh anniversary of the conquering of Jerusalem by the British forces headed by General Allenby, and was named after the British king of that time - King George the fifth.

The street was inagurated in the presence of Sir Herbert Samuel, the High Commissioner for Palestine, Sir Ronald Storrs who was the Governor of Jaffa district in Jerusalem and Ragheb Bey El Nashashini, the Arab Mayor of Jerusalem.
