Global Warming, San Bernardino & Daesh

While over 190 world leaders gathered for the global warning conference in Paris, the planet was boiling over in more ways than one. The gathering in Paris, the city whose lights were dimmed by the Daesh atrocity, has been followed by San Bernardino. No, there is still no proof that Syed Farook acted on Daesh orders, but after the Paris attacks Daesh warned that 'Washington' would be next on its hit list. Bear this in mind: the late Dov Yinon, an eminent Israeli expert on Arab affairs, said that whenever some Muslims are exhilarated by a successful terror attack, they dream about also carrying out such acts. This could very well be what happened with Syed Farook, and the FBI is now checking back on his possible 'radical' connections. In the meantime, Daesh has praised the San Bernardino attack, some calling the killers 'Lions who have made us proud!'

Some Muslims may be 'fellow travelers' who are motivated by Daesh. In this case, Syed Farook may have been filled with glowing admiration for the Daesh conquests in Syria while also harboring an inner animosity toward his fellow workers in San Bernardino. This could have exploded during the 'dispute' at the employees' party, and triggered his and his wife's killing spree. The fact is he was planning something - why would he have 'long guns and tactical gear' for himself and his wife stored in his home as well as some explosive charges? My point is that radical Islam is an insidious threat that can erupt just about anywhere.

The Islamist threat posed by the 'lone wolf' can be even harder to combat than organized terror cells...

In the U.S., President Barack Obama tried to allay this danger in his Thanksgiving message, but the Islamist threat posed by the 'lone wolf' can be even harder to combat than organized terror cells that tend to leave telltale signs as they prepare their attacks. Like global warning, it is also a sign of the times.

It is not only nationalist or even fascist that one 'Islamic State' must rule the Middle East and beyond under the iron fist of Daesh and its sole brand of Islam, but it also holds that followers of all other religions are infidels who must either accept Islam or be put to the sword or knife. Obviously it is a threat, first and foremost, to the overwhelming number of Muslims around the world, and certainly in the U.S. where CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) immediately condemned the San Bernardino bloodbath.

By burying his head in the sand and refusing to call out radical Islam, Obama is sending the wrong signal.

What's to be done? By burying his head in the sand and refusing to call out radical Islam, Obama is sending the wrong signal. There is no getting around it. In order to prevent an eventual wave of anti-Muslim sentiment in America, Obama and the Islamic community must step up to the plate. Maybe the President should call an urgent meeting with American-Muslim leaders. Of course they bear no responsibility for the bloodshed of other Muslims, but can they not play a more active role in combating it?

Maybe the next international UN conference should be called not only to deal with global warming but also how to cope with the radical Islam that is wreaking mayhem, not only in the Middle East, but also in Europe, now in North America, and daily in Africa, where its atrocities get far less coverage by the Media. Far-fetched? Absurd? Unrealistic? Yes, to all three. But this is turning out to be the greatest threat since the fall of the Soviet Empire, and the global aspirations and delusions of Nazi Germany.

Cameron's comments came against the background of reports that MI-5 security service has smashed a series of Islamist terror plots in Britain.

Just consider the comments made by Britain's Prime Minister, David Cameron, in the parliamentary debate that approved RAF bombing of Daesh in Syria. Cameron's comments came against the background of reports that MI-5 security service has smashed a series of Islamist terror plots in Britain. He specifically referred to the Islamist threat inside of Britain:

" ... these woman raping, Muslim murdering, medieval monsters - plotting to kill us and to radicalize our children right now...They are plotting to kill British people. Do we sit back and wait for them to attack us?"

Shadow Foreign Minister Hilary Benn speaks in Parliament

No British understatement here. Nor in the speech of Hilary Benn, Labour's Shadow Foreign Secretary:

"We know they are plotting more attacks. The question for each of us is this: Given that we know what they are doing, can we really stand aside and refuse to act fully in our self-defense?"

In the debate, even Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary drew the dots between Daesh in the Middle East and radical Islam at home:

"...They hold our beliefs in tolerance and decency in contempt. They hold our democracy, the rules by which we will make our decision tonight, in contempt."

"And we are here faced with fascists. Not just their calculating brutality but their belief that they are superior to every single one of us in this chamber tonight and all of the people we represent. They hold us in contempt. They hold our values in contempt. They hold our beliefs in tolerance and decency in contempt. They hold our democracy, the rules by which we will make our decision tonight, in contempt."

There was no mistaking Hilary Benn's flash of prime ministerial flare in his address that swayed many of his Labour colleagues to buck party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

When was the last time, President Barack Obama, the leader of the Free World ever made such comments on coping with radical Islam?

Ironically, not only Britain but also Iran, the world's number one sponsor of state terrorism, has joined the 11 countries that are bombing Daesh. The fact is that Iran has instigated far more terrorism abroad than Daesh, and has imposed a brutal regime on its own people. Moreover, the Ayatollahs in Tehran have their own grand design to enforce a Shiite Muslim Caliphate of their own, in contrast to the Sunni tyranny of Daesh that now rules in much of Syria and Iraq.
