Publish all the secret Iranian accord!

There is only one logical solution to the firestorm swirling around the Iranian nuclear agreement - publish and be damned! Otherwise only the Iranians and Yukiya Amano, the Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, know what exactly is in it. It's true. Even Senators in Washington, who are set to vote on it next month, are still in the dark. Be they Democrats or Republicans, how can they vote in good conscience if they don't know what they're voting on? The question is also whether even President Barack Obama himself and Secretary of State John Kerry have been leaked the details of the IAEA's sacrosanct accord with Tehran?

President Obama, tell us the truth about the Iranian nuclear deal!

Granted, this will allow you to exit the White House in January of 2017 with your Nobel Prize intact, but what of the longer term impact on your successors? Last but not least, what about Israel and the Sunni Arab states which are in Iran's nuclear crosshairs but which were totally excluded by the Great Powers in the crucial talks? Meanwhile the Iranians are not even helping you sell the nuclear package that is so full of holes.

‘First we take Cairo – then we take Jerusalem!’

Islamic State now poses a real and present danger to Israel's southern flank of Egyptian controlled Sinai. The IDF has reacted by stepping up its alert along the Sinai border that includes closing Highway 12, which runs along the frontier. In 2011, Jihadists crossed the border in a daring raid that killed eight Israelis. The terrorists have also rocketed Israel's Red Sea port of Eilat. But the ferocity of the IS combined operation against numerous Egyptian military targets signal a sharp escalation and threat, not only to Cairo but also Jerusalem.

There will be no change until Muslims wake up

Nearly 40 Muslims were murdered last Friday in a mosque in Kuwait. Dozens of Egyptian soldiers were killed on Wednesday. In between, another 103 Muslims were massacred in the city of Kobani in Syria, another 50 in the village of Lego in Somalia and 28 others in Sana'a, Yemen. We don’t know about all terror attacks in real time. In 2013, nearly 18,000 people were murdered in terror attacks, and in 2014 the number crossed 32,000. Almost all of them were Muslims. In addition, there are the victims of the wars in the Muslim world, so the estimates are that 132,000-174,000 Muslims were killed in 2014. And that's before mentioning the millions of refugees whose situation is deteriorating.

Israeli warning prevents IS offensive again Syrian Druze communities

Israel's dilemma: The Druze community in Syria may soon be targeted for atrocities by ISIL and the other Jihadists that are battling to topple the regime of President Bashar Assad. On the other hand, the Syrian Druze have carried out deadly terror attacks against Israel and stand firmly behind Assad, a bitter enemy of the Jewish state. But across the border in Israel, Druze citizens are loyal citizens of the Jewish state and serve in combat units of the IDF. Despite this unusual state of affairs, the Druze in Israel have close ties with their relatives in Syria and demand that Israel come to the aid of their Syrian brethren. What to do? Israel has succeeded in steering clear of the bloody civil war in Syria that is now entering its fifth year. While she owes a moral obligation to her Druze citizens, should the Jewish state come to the aid of her Druze enemy in Syria?

Israel should defend Druze from IS onslaught in Syria

Israel is facing a major moral and strategic dilemma - whether or not to defend the hundreds of thousands of Druze civilians in Syria who are now under dire threat from the relentless advance of the Islamic State. Make no mistake, the Druze are strong supporters of Syrian President Bashar Assad, a bitter enemy of Israel. Several weeks ago, a Druze terror squad even tried to carry out a cross-border attack against Israel on the Golan Heights. When Israel annexed part of the Golan Heights after the Six-Day War in 1967, the Druze inside that area returned their Israeli identity cards and pledged allegiance to President Hafez Assad in Damascus. However, his son, Bashar Assad has abandoned them now by pulling the Syrian Army out of the Druze regions in order to strengthen Damascus and his Alawite enclave along the Mediterranean coast.

ISRAEL IN CROSSHAIRS OF ISIS

Is Israel now in the crosshairs of ISIS? Ansar al-Maqdis, an affiliate of ISIS in Sinai has posted a warning on its web site threatening to carry out a 'mega-terror attack on Eilat in the coming days'. Eilat is Israel's port on the Red Sea, which is also a very popular tourist town. The al-Maqdis terrorists, who are now engaged in a bloody war with the Egyptian Army, have sworn allegiance to ISIS and are obviously taking their orders from Islamic State. Channel 1 TV opened its evening newscast with three reports on the possible threat. A senior IDF commander in Eilat said his forces are always prepared to cope with suicide bombers or attempts to crash through Israel's security fence along the Sinai border. The Israeli Air Force and Navy are also on round the clock standby to meet attacks from sea or the air. In the past, al-Maqdis has launched several rockets at Eilat. Recently Islamic State has included the Sinai Peninsula into its proposed caliphate, naming it as the 'Sinai Province'.

OBAMA'S HYPOCRISY TOWARD ISRAEL

"It smacks of a pinch of hypocrisy" - that was the first official Israeli reaction. It was directed at U.S. President Barack Obama, who told the Atlantic Magazine that he would punish Israel diplomatically for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's election rhetoric about 'no two-two state solution on his watch' and how 'Israeli Arab voters were flocking to the polls in buses'. Hanegbi, who chairs the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, noted that Obama ignored Iran's human rights violations such as executing more people than any other state in the world. This also applied to Turkey, which holds the international record for jailing journalists.

ISRAEL AIR FORCE PRESENTED PLAN FOR ATTACKING IRAN

It's incredible - they just can't seem to help it. Both Iran and North Korea simply won't let US President Barack Obama get away with concluding another bogus nuclear agreement. The most glaring is Pyongyang. According to the Wall Street Journal, China believes the North Koreans may already have produced an arsenal of twenty nuclear warheads. Previously, American experts estimated the North Koreans had acquired only 10 to 16 A-Bombs. Some American sources warn North Korea may step up its production to reach some 100 atomic warheads by 2020. This is the sorry result of former President Bill Clinton's nuclear deal with Pyongyang in 1994 that had all the trappings of a similar accord that Obama is now seeking to conclude with the Iranians by the end of June. It looks as if the Iranians are using the North Koreans' game plan that led the US down the garden path.

ISRAELI FIGHTER-BOMBERS CAPABLE OF PENETRATING IRAN'S S-300 MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM

These are trying times for the Jewish state. First U.S. President Barack Obama offers to give A-Bombs to Iran on a silver platter, and then Russian President Vladimir Putin announces he is now ready to supply Tehran with a sophisticated S-300 air defense to protect them! It took the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee to step in and remind Law Professor Obama about the 'checks and balances' of the U.S. Constitution designed to prevent a president from screwing up on foreign policy. Although the Senate's intervention may have injected a sense of sanity into Obama's dash for a deal with the Ayatollahs, it has not blocked Iran's road to nuclear weapons; it will only make it more difficult and take longer - a detour along the way. At best, if the Iranians do not try and cheat again in the near future, this may be the Iranian game plan according to IDF (ret) Maj. Gen. Yaakov Amidror, a leading intelligence expert:

"The Iranians will scrupulously comply during the term of the forthcoming accord and rebuild their economy, bolster their regional status, strengthen their partners Hezbollah and others (Hamas, Houthi rebels in Yemen), deepen their nuclear research; and when the accord expires they will return to their nuclear weapons program with greater intensity."

LAUSANNE - IRANIAN INTERPRETATION OF NUCLEAR AGREEMENT WILL DIFFER

'The devil will be in the details' - Iran appears to have made some surprising nuclear concessions in the framework understandings in Lausanne but will they start backtracking when the fine print is negotiated by the end of June? The jury is still out. Although Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was beaming from ear to ear was he playing his designated role in another Iranian scheme to again pull the wool over the eyes of the world? Was it another old Iranian scam of one foot forward and then two steps back in the upcoming and binding round of talks to be finalized by the end of June? This is the big question that Israel will be watching in the months ahead. And with good reason; if Iran, a known con artist which has lied and cheated repeatedly in the past, still insists that its entire nuclear project has always been for peaceful purposes, then 'buyer beware!'

SHAARE ZEDEK MEDICAL CENTER - FIGHTING HEART DISEASE IN ISRAEL

Heart disease is a well-known killer. Just one decade ago, the WHO (World Health Organization) released its findings showing that heart disease has become a global epidemic with approximately 17 million people dying each year from heart attack and stroke; at the time of publishing, this made up nearly one-third of deaths globally; and the WHO then prospected that this number would only rise with time.  Thankfully, medical research has produced some significant advances to combat this medical threat and continues to develop innovative methods to treat and prevent heart disease.  Not surprisingly, a number of these advances (and ongoing research) are coming from none other than Israel.  IsraCast went to Shaare Zedek Medical Hospital to learn more.

SUNNI ARAB STATES TAKE ON IRAN IN YEMEN

The flashpoint between Shiite and Sunni Islam has erupted in Yemen. After Shiite Iran armed Houthi rebels to the hilt, they have ousted the Sunni regime of Sunni President Abd Mansour Hadi. Neighboring Saudi Arabia has had enough. The Sunni regime in Riyadh has launched a major offensive into Yemen with 100 aircraft and an estimated 150,000 troops. Egypt has also dispatched troops, ships and aircraft to fight against the Shiite rebels in Yemen.

OBAMA'S NEW STRATEGY ON IRAN ...

Is the leader of the free world about to embark on a new grand strategy that will grant the ayatollahs in Tehran more or less what they want at this stage for their nuclear weapons program in return for their aid in fighting ISIL? This foreign policy shift is now being pondered in the capitals of Cairo, Riyadh, Amman, let alone Jerusalem, America's long-term allies.

IDF Maj. Gen. (res) Yaakov Amidror, a former commander of Military Intelligence, has just returned from Washington where, although he found it hard to believe, he learned that senior officials in the Obama administration are actually weighing such an option. In other words, the U.S. is considering the use of soft power by easing on Iran's nuclear weapons project in return for enlisting Iranian military support against ISIL.

IS NETANYAHU GOING TO WASHINGTON TO PREVENT ANOTHER MUNICH?

Do Netanyahu and the Israeli intelligence services know something we don't? Otherwise it is hard to explain why the Israeli leader is jeopardizing his already strained relations with Obama, who still has some two years in office to run America's foreign policy. On the face of it, it appears to be a rash and reckless gambit for Netanyahu to put all his eggs in the basket of the Republican majority in Congress. Moreover in the current Israeli election campaign, Netanyahu has left himself open to charges that he is harming Israel's crucial relations with America in order to boost his popularity with the Right wing.

The world is helpless against jihad

It's no longer a war with a radical organization. It's something else. Something the human mind finds difficult to deal with. There are wars. There is brutality against rivals and enemies. There are exceptions in every war. But when it comes to jihad, horror is a norm. Slaughtering a person in front of the cameras appeared to be the lowest point. We were wrong. The burning of the Jordanian pilot clarifies that we are witnessing something much darker. Pure evil that is turned into a snuff film.

Egypt’s War in the Sinai Peninsula: A Struggle that Goes beyond Egypt

Egypt is in the midst of a war that can be categorized as a low-intensity conflict. This category represents a common pattern of military campaigns in the early twenty-first century: sub-conventional wars fought by armies and security services belonging to states against armies of terrorilla- fully armed and hierarchical organizations that operate among civilian populations, combining guerilla and terror warfare tactics with the logic of terrorism. The civilians provide shelter and aid, whether under duress or in solidarity, and they always suffer the bitter consequences of the conflict.

Netanyahu Postpone Your Address to U.S. Congress! Iran-Hezbollah Present Clear & Present Danger

What triggered the recent flare-up along Israel's border with Syria and Lebanon? It appears to have died down, although a tense quiet prevails, with all sides keeping an eagle eye open on the enemy. Questions are now being asked about the implications of what has transpired. Israel is mourning the deaths of two soldiers in a deadly rocket raid by Hezbollah that retaliated for a reported Israeli drone strike that killed an Iranian general, the son of a former Hezbollah 'Chief of Staff' and a number of their escorts who were traveling on the Golan Heights near the Israeli border. Israel's Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon has stated:

  • Israel will not allow terror organizations to attack Israeli civilians
  • The joint Hezbollah-Iranian party that was surveying the Israeli side of the border along the Golan Heights was preparing to launch a lethal cross border attack.
